The agreement

Read the full agreement below, then initial rules #2, #15 and #16 and the equipment damage clause, and sign at the end. Version 1.0, September 2026.

Jet car rental agreement, waiver, release of liability, assumption of risk, and indemnity

Rental rules and regulations

  1. Only riders and passengers 16 years of age or older who have signed this agreement may operate or ride in a jet car.
  2. Equipment inspection. Before operating a jet car, the guest has personally inspected the vehicle and confirms it is in good operating condition and free of visible damage, except as noted in writing with a crew member before departure. A return inspection is carried out at the end of every rental, and the guest accepts responsibility for damage, loss, or mechanical issues that were not documented in writing before use.Please initial — no exceptions.
  3. A life vest or approved flotation device must be worn at all times during the rental.
  4. No alcohol or drug consumption is permitted before or during the rental. Violation ends the rental immediately with no refund.
  5. Operate the jet car only while seated properly with both hands on the steering wheel.
  6. Do not carry items that may be damaged by water. JetCarsBelize is not responsible for loss of or damage to personal belongings.
  7. A maximum of 2 persons per jet car is permitted, with a combined weight limit of 450 lbs.
  8. Only riders and passengers registered on this agreement may ride.
  9. Ride within your current skill level. Do not push your limits, and exercise caution at all times.
  10. No sharp turns that may cause a flip, rollover, or damage to the jet car.
  11. Do not run the jet car aground or onto the beach. Doing so causes damage and incurs fees.
  12. Stay at least 200 feet from islands, beaches, docks, swimmers, snorkelers, divers, and other persons in the water.
  13. Stay at least 500 feet from the reef.
  14. Do not intentionally splash or spray any person.
  15. Any jet car flip or rollover requires a mandatory inspection fee of $450 USD.Please initial — no exceptions.
  16. The speed limit within the 200-foot launch area is 3 mph. Jet cars have no brakes, and speed must not exceed 3 mph when approaching or leaving the launch area.Please initial — no exceptions.
  17. No racing, contests, or competitive riding of any kind.
  18. Do not tow or be towed by any jet car or other vessel.
  19. Maintain a minimum distance of 100 feet from other vessels.
  20. Do not leave the jet car, equipment, or keys unattended.
  21. Guests who violate these rules, ignore crew instructions, or ride recklessly are escorted back and forfeit their remaining ride time with no refund.
  22. Late returns incur additional fees at $5 USD per minute. No refunds are issued for early returns.
  23. If a jet car must be grounded, raised, towed, or otherwise recovered, the guest is responsible for the associated costs.
  24. Operation is limited to the area designated by the crew at check-in, within approximately 2 miles of the launch point at Secret Beach.
  25. Any violation of these rules may result in forfeiture of the full rental payment.

Assumption of risk and liability release

In consideration of being permitted to take part in jet car rental activities (the “Activities”) provided by JetCarsBelize (the “Company”), the undersigned guest (the “Guest”) agrees to the following.

All jet cars and related equipment remain the sole property of the Company, which retains operational control and discretion over their use at all times. Guided experiences may include riding and non-riding portions, and equipment use may be intermittent rather than continuous unless stated otherwise in writing.

The Guest knowingly and voluntarily assumes all risks, known and unknown, associated with operating or riding in a jet car, including serious injury, permanent disability, death, property damage, equipment failure, environmental conditions, operator error, and harm to third parties.

The Guest releases, discharges, and holds harmless the Company together with its owners, officers, directors, employees, agents, contractors, successors, and insurers, as well as booking agents, tour operators, resellers, and referral partners involved in marketing or coordinating the Activities, from all claims, demands, actions, liabilities, and damages arising from participation in the Activities, whether arising from negligence or otherwise.

This agreement is governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Belize, and any dispute arising from it is to be resolved in the courts of Belize.

Inherently dangerous activity, no warranty, and no insurance

Operating or riding in a jet car is an inherently dangerous activity. Risks include collisions, submerged and floating objects, reefs, sandbars, waves, sudden weather changes, reduced visibility, mechanical failure, and interaction with other watercraft.

The Company makes no warranty, express or implied, as to the safety, condition, seaworthiness, or fitness for any purpose of any jet car or related equipment.

No medical, accident, liability, or personal property insurance is provided by the Company. Guests are strongly encouraged to obtain personal medical and travel insurance before taking part.

The Guest is fully liable for loss of or damage to the equipment, for property damage, and for injury to persons caused by the use or operation of the equipment. Where equipment is damaged, the Guest agrees to a minimum charge of $850 USD per jet car, up to full replacement value, including applicable taxes, duties, transportation, and administrative costs.Please initial — no exceptions.

Sargassum, weather, and conditions

Jet car operation is affected by weather, sea conditions, sargassum, and rider ability. Once an activity has begun, no refunds are issued for any reason.

If a mechanical issue occurs, replacement equipment may be provided where available, or remaining time may be rescheduled at the Company’s discretion. The Guest accepts the risk of sargassum clogs and agrees that no refund is issued for these conditions.

Jet car activities require moderate physical effort, including mounting and dismounting the vehicle more than once.
